Wow - what a weekend

Here is a bunch of photos from around the city - amazing that no one was killed !!

I'm sitting here in the office and we're getting big aftershocks - the last one was 4.6 - feeling very uneasy.

  1. Oh my goodness! Thank God that no one got hurt! Those are some pretty amazing pictures showing some big time damage! The holes and cracks in the roads are scary to me. Could you imagine driving a car when the hard after-shocks hit?

I am glad that you are okay...sorry to hear about this devastating event. Take care of yourself.

  2. Hi Julie,

Thanks for that - I feel very "weird" and the wife isn't sleeping. Still getting heaps of aftershocks and it's not something that I thought that I would experience living here in New Zealand.

  3. Julie took the words right out of my mouth. I saw the pictures and thought, "Oh, my goodness!!" We live in earthquake country here in California, but it's still scary to live through one. And 7.1? That was a big quake.

Keep your wits about you. All of this shaking will slowly subside. And don't go injuring your knee (again) trying to run off if you feel a shake!!

    Wow. Those pictures are startling!

  4. Hi Sis,

Thanks for that and it's still freaking the shit out of us. We've had over 600 aftershocks and they are ranging between 2.7 and 5.1, very scary!!!
